Hawaii Lawmakers Urge Congress to Repeal 2nd Amendment

Democratic legislators have introduced two virtually identical resolutions in the Hawaii Senate urging Congress to consider a constitutional amendment to either repeal or clarify the Second Amendment. ~ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the United States Congress is requested to consider and discuss whether the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution should be repealed or amended to clarify that the right to bear arms is a collective, rather than individual, constitutional right. ~ Kiss my bohonkus. The following needs no clarification: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Thank goodness the foresight and wisdom of ou...  Read More

Connecticut Dem introduces 50 percent tax on ammunition, calling it 'public health measure'

A Democratic Connecticut state legislator introduced a bill on Monday that would raise the tax on ammunition in the state by 50 percent, prompting an immediate condemnation by the National Rifle Association (NRA) and concerns from legal observers that the legislation would be unconstitutional. ~ In response to a similar proposal in Illinois last year, Adam Michel, a policy analyst for the Heritage Foundation, wrote that high taxes on ammunition would only create a dangerous black market, while also encroaching impermissibly on the Second Amendment. ~ It is impossible to predict whether this law will be found to pass constitutional muster or not. But one thing is certain, if it does, more states will follow. If you haven’t already, ...  Read More

Leftist Liberals Launch and Laud Loony Law in LA

Nah, that’s not really the title of the article, but I wanted to show off my alliteration skills (wait till I show off what I can do with onomatopoeia…). The real title of the article is: LA City Contractors Must Disclose Ties To NRA, Council Says Original Article CBS Los Angeles February 12, 2019 LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – An ordinance requiring contractors with the city of Los Angeles to disclose any ties they have to the National Rifle Association was approved unanimously Tuesday by the city council. Yes, there was dancing in the streets - in some circles, anyway. Gun grabbers are creative, ifnothing else, in devising means and manners to circumvent the Second Amendment rights of allAmerican citizens. And they are a constant like ...  Read More

NY Bill Would Require Social Media Checks for Gun Purchases

New York may require people buying firearms to submit to a background check of their social media and search history dating back three years, ABC 7 WKBW in Buffalo reports. ~ It “requires a person applying for a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver or a renewal of such license to consent to having his or her social media accounts and search engine history reviewed and investigated for certain posts and/or searches over a period of 1-3 years prior to the approval of such application or renewal.” ~ However, gun rights lawyer James Tresmond told the network that the bill would violate multiple constitutional rights, including “the first, the second amendment, the fifth amendment, the fourth amendment, and the 14th amendmen...  Read More

Several Sheriffs in Washington State Refuse to Enforce New Gun-Law Measure

Some sheriffs in several conservative Washington counties have refused to enforce the state’s sweeping restrictions on semi-automatic rifles until the courts decide whether they are constitutional. The November measure raised the minimum age for buying semi-automatic from 18 to 21, requires buyers…added expanded background checks and gun storage requirements ~ “I swore an oath to defend our citizens and their constitutionally protected rights,” Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones told the Associated Press. “I do not believe the popular vote overrules that.” ~ Hats off to Sheriff Tom Jones and the sheriffs in 11 other Washington State counties. Hats off, too, to the NRA and the Second Amendment Foundation who jointly filed a lawsuit in ...  Read More

Keep Telling Your Members of Congress to Oppose “Universal” Background Check Bills

On January 8, two bills were introduced in Congress to impose so-called "universal" background checks. The bills, H.R. 8 and S. 42, are being misleadingly described as simply requiring background checks on all sales of firearms, but this is just a small part of what these overbroad pieces of legislation would do. …Both bills would make it a crime, subject to certain exceptions, to simply hand a firearm to another person. Any time gun owners carry out this simple act, they would potentially be exposing themselves to criminal penalties. While the bills do create some exceptions, they are overly complicated and create many traps for unwary gun owners. Accidental violations of these complicated provisions are not excused under the proposed ...  Read More
